Meet the woman of the hour, Lovely Ranoa-Chia, the Vice President of Franchise Operations at In Home Personal Services.
Being a mother while caring for loved ones and patients, Lovely gained compassion for helping others, especially those in need. She was a caregiver in the profession at the age of 16. As a young first-time mother, to make ends meet and pursue better opportunities, she worked full-time as a caregiver while taking college prerequisite classes, until she was accepted into the Nursing Program and graduated in 2010.
Since then, she proudly encompassed many caregiver skills while in the nursing profession. She has seen first-hand what it is like for patients living in senior homes and nursing care facilities. The negative effects on patients’ physical well-being and mental health, while away from their homes and families, without a doubt diminished their quality of life. From these experiences at the early stage of her professional career, she grew more passionate about the many benefits of home care options for loved ones.
About In Home Personal Services
Founded in 2004, In Home Personal Services provides caregiver support and services that promote living independently and safely in the comfort of our homes. IHPS genuinely takes pride in providing the best possible quality in-home care through ongoing research and innovation, the development of caregiver training programs that meets and exceeds industry standards, and partnerships with care providers to provide additional resources for IHPS’s clients. In addition, it provides continuing education and in-services that guarantee ongoing quality care.
IHPS understands that home care is not one-size-fits-all. Hence, the service models it offers are personalized to best fit the needs of its loved ones. It offers ongoing assessments and check-ins that ensure the well-being of clients and their care. In addition, IHPS’s team of care professionals oversees the care it provides, and all are always accounted for— which ultimately gives their families peace of mind.
The Art of Caregiving
Lovely believes that we all take part in a caregiving world. Some have been caregivers. Some are currently caregivers. Some will be caregivers, and some will need a caregiver. Too often, we underestimate the power of the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to make a difference and turn a life around.
One of her greatest motivations is that she is allowed to make a difference by creating a better understanding of what it takes to care for a loved one. The caregiving experience is a life-altering journey as individuals rise to challenges and reflect on the rewards. Her goal is to
identify, develop, and share the work it will require, the skills needed, and the amount of time and energy to be a caregiver.
IHPS: A Home away from Home
In Home Personal Services are built by families for families. The entire business model is inspired that one can have a business that thrives and a business that serves other people. IHPS is also an active member of our local communities— a proud supporter and sponsor of organizations that help improve the lives of our loved ones.
IHPS not only takes pride in its services but also values and empowers its employees and their families. Amid the transition into this executive role, Lovely’s son was diagnosed with cancer. It was a very difficult time for her family.
IHPS and its leadership team did not allow this to diminish her value as an employee, instead, it was an opportunity to rise to the challenges— to understand what it takes to be a caregiver for a loved one, and it takes all the help you can get.
Today, she is proud to be part of IHPS Senior Leadership and a real-life caregiver to her son who earned the badge of honour— CANCER SURVIVOR!

Lovely pens a Solid Advice for Next-gen Female Entrepreneurs: Embrace Vulnerability and Master Emotional Control
First, vulnerability is not the same as “being emotional,” which connotes a lack of emotional control. We need to feel trust to be vulnerable, and we need to be vulnerable to trust. You may associate being vulnerable with showing weakness, but it is a strength that leads to greater trust. Women tend to possess this strength. Building trust requires a level of maturity and experience that often means putting others before yourself. Trust conveys “I care about you” and “I am here for you.” Trust is the foundation of everything an effective leader does, so embrace your vulnerability and master emotional control.
Striving towards an Ambitious Future
As Lovely continues to pursue professional growth in the company, she also hopes to inspire those around her. She aspires to be a genuine mentor and propel individuals to keep moving forward.
She aims to be a leader that encourages individuals to see their value, empower their potential, and achieve their goals.
To summon it up, she adds, “If I can do it, they can do it too“.
Last but not least: Words of Wisdom
Lovely quotes her favorite quote, “Don’t make plans, make options.” Without a doubt, having more options enables us to achieve better objective outcomes, even during volatile times, regardless of which direction the situation is moving.
