China claims Australia is not treating all apps fairly, including Tik Tok

China claims Australia for not treating all apps fairly
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Chinese government claims the Australian government is not treating all apps fairly. Recently, the famous Chinese app “TikTok” has been categorised as “discriminatory” in Australia. The app owned by the Chinese company ByteDance learned of this unfair decision and claimed Australia should treat all country’s applications equally.

The Chinese government stated that the Australian government is unintentionally targeting them by giving a discriminatory ban on the TikTok app. They are treating this app unfairly because a Chinese company owns it. Similar concerns were raised by other Chinese companies that are operating in China.

The Chinese government has urged the Australian government to treat all companies fairly without seeing the origin or ownership of the company. The discrimination among the Chinese apps and the way they treat Chinese firms differently confirm that Australia is targeting China. China’s Ministry of Commerce has stated that it hopes Australia will provide a fair and non-discriminatory business environment for all companies operating in the country, including those from China.

Due to concerns about national security and data privacy, Australia is increasing its scrutiny of the operations of foreign tech companies in the country, with a focus on China. This led to tensions between the two countries.

The Australian government replied to the above accusations by stating that they did not target any specific company or treat the company differently because it originated in China. They wanted to protect national security and ensure that all the companies operating in the country were under Australian laws and regulations.

Australia stood up with their strong statement “protecting national security” and has a true interest in safeguarding national security, ensuring that every foreign tech company is not engaging in activities against Australia’s laws and regulations. But China questioning the targeting of the company is also fair as the Chinese apps are treated with discrimination.

The tensions between Australia and China have been raised because of this unfair treatment in Australia. Both countries should come up with mutually beneficial solutions to attain peace in their countries. Australia should not be biased towards a particular country, as these actions increase tension between the two countries and affect their relationship.
