When asked about the primary force that inspired him to establish Distinctive Living, Joseph Jedlowski went back to the days when he was living with his grandparents. As a child, Joseph’s paternal grandmother would bring him to the nursing home where she worked, where he would help out in the dining room and participate in activities with the residents. With 20 years of experience, Joseph now oversees two successful businesses: one with 26 properties under management in nine states after only two years of operation and another with 19 properties in various stages of development and develops its own assets while supporting individuals in managing theirs.

A Glimpse of Joe’s Inspirational Journey
Joe Jedlowski began his career with a nursing home; it was his first job. From there, he rose to the positions of the administrator of one facility and vice president of operations for a sizable company, managing locations across several states. He took over ownership and served as president of Milestone in 2010, which manages communities for independent, assisted, and memory care residents. In ten years, Joe helped them expand from 11 to more than 100 communities throughout 22 states. Throughout his journey at Milestone, Joe learned a lot, and it was the real catalyst for starting Distinctive Living.
He formed his own retirement community management company, Distinctive Living, LLC, and a development company, Distinctive Living Development and took the helm.
