Indian Space Research Program continues to stun the space enthusiast with the more exciting news of the year. ISRO has released the video of the Mangalyaan taking the footage of the Mars moon Phobos.
India was the first country on Earth who achieve the milestone when it sent the Prob to Mars orbit in its first attempt. The mission was in the news for its low budget. ISRO is known for running the space program at the lowest budget compared to other space agencies worldwide. With the Mangalyaan success, the ISRO has demonstrated that they can make space research more affordable.
Mangalyaan has been launched in November 2013. It captures our neighboring red planets’ stunning videos and pictures with their two moons.
In a recent video, the ISRO showed the Mars moon video capture using the orbital Natalie tied to Mars’s gravity. In the video, we can see the moon passing over Mars.
NASA discovered Mars’s moon during its earlier Mars mission. Two Martian moons, Phobos and Deimos, were discovered in 1877 by the US astronomer Asaph Hall. The moons are circling the planet twice a day. If we talk about the diameters of these moons, they are about the size of Mars’s moon, so they are relatively smaller than Earth’s moon.
As per the estimation, the Mars moon is closing the Mars at the rate of 6 feet every 100 years. Thus, it is predicted that after a few million years, the moon could crash land on Mars’s surface.
Mangalyaan was orbiting Mars since September 2014. It was the first time the ISRO had their salaries in the orbit of other planets exploring space objects in the far distance. Mangalyaan is the official name of the Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM). ISRO is developing a technology to build the interplanetary mission, which will take humans to space and another distant planet.
With the success of the Mangalyaan, India has become the fourth space agency to send a spacecraft to Mars orbit. Before India, NASA, Russia, and the European Space Agency have achieved the milestone. Among them, India was the first space organization to accomplish the milestone in its first attempt.
ISRO is aggressively working on space research and finding solutions to the various challenges that every space agency has to deal with when they leave the Earth’s atmosphere.
The new space mission of ISRO is focused on developing a reusable rocket system so the frequency of space launches will increase. SpaceX, a US-based, privately held space company, has demonstrated that reusable rocket technology is possible.
ISRO is learning from the success of SpaceX and building its reusable rocket system to improve space technology. The biggest challenge in space travel is going to space.
It requires so much effort to send the rocket into space carrying a heavy payload. Reusability will reduce the rocket launch cost and increase the frequency because the central portion of the missile will be landed safely on the ground.
As the recent announcement, ISRO is planning another mission to the Sun to explore the Sun’s surface and try to understand how it functions. It will help us to understand various aspects of the universe.
The Sun is the closest star that we have in the universe. Still, we need to learn more about it. The new sun mission will enhance our knowledge and change our perspective about the Sun.
Even in the small space budget, ISRO has recorded many achievements to its name. Doing differently is what the team at ISRO believes, and they portray their talents and ambitious goals with every new milestone they have achieved in recent years. India wants to be a viable space agency for the world.
ISRO is working on various projects and helping other nations with their space program. Many countries and government bodies rely on the ISRO to deploy satellites to the Earth’s orbits.
Chandrayaan-3 mission has elevated India’s status in the space research group. India became the fourth nation to land on the moon and the first to land on the moon’s south pole.
ISRO Indigenous Space program is demonstrating India’s strength in modern technology. Indigenously built space vehicles and technology are a sign that Indian companies are ready to compete strongly with the world’s most significant player in space. India wants to promote made-in products. ISROs’ success will help them achieve the goal quickly and make the world market aware that Indian-made products are way better than Made in China.
As the budget of ISRO increases, we will see more announcements on the new space mission in the future.
