Tesla’s Iron-Based Batteries: A Game-Changer for Affordable Electric Cars and Semi-Electric Trucks

Tesla's Iron-Based Batteries

The most iconic and well-known company in the electric vehicle industry, Tesla, has come up with the idea of developing iron-based batteries for its semi-electric trucks and affordable electric cars. This could be a game-changing move in the industry.

In most EVs, lithium-ion batteries are used. So using iron-based batteries as an alternative is a smart idea, and they are cheaper to manufacture and more environmentally friendly too. The iron-based batteries are less prone to catching fire than lithium-ion batteries, which is why they are a safer alternative for transportation companies. Tesla’s decision to develop these batteries for its electric trucks and cars is a strategic move to make EVs more accessible to the average customer.

The semi-electric truck has revolutionised the transportation industry. The company received a hugely positive response from customers and received pre-orders for its semi-electric truck from various companies, such as Walmart, PepsiCo, and UPS. Semi-electric truck range with iron-based batteries could increase as it becomes more appealing to long-haul trucking companies.

An average consumer can also access the electric vehicle as Tesla is going to develop these iron-based battery electric cars. The luxury vehicles, like the Model S and Model X, are out of reach for many people, as they cannot afford them. The development of these iron-based battery electric vehicles will allow Tesla to produce a car that is both affordable and won’t cause global warming.

The iron-based batteries will cut the cost of electric vehicles by up to 50%. The drastic reduction in cost makes EVs more competitive with traditional gas cars in terms of pricing and eco-friendliness.

The use of iron-based batteries in EVs reduces Tesla’s reliance on cobalt, which is an expensive mineral used in the production of lithium-ion batteries. The reduction of Tesla’s reliance on cobalt will make EVs more environmentally sustainable.

In summary, Tesla has come up with a mind-blowing idea where it develops iron-based batteries for its semi-electric truck and affordable electric cars. The use of these batteries will reduce their production costs and make them more affordable for the average consumer. This way, they produce safer, more eco-friendly, affordable electric vehicles. This development could be a big game changer in the transportation industry.
